Kunturwasi is located at one block from the Main Square of Cabanaconde, the last town of the traditional Colca circuit and the only one from where it is possible to see the impressive Colca Canyon, the deepest in the world.  Cabanaconde is the nearest town to The Cruz del Condor viewpoint (at only 15 minutes) and it is called ‘the Kingdom of the Condor’ because is part of the natural inhabit of this great Andean bird.

Geographically, Cabanaconde is located at 3200 meters about the sea level, 500 meters below the town of Chivay, placed at the beginning of the Colca. This allows the climate to be warmer during the day and less cold at night than the other towns with hotel infrastructures.

Walking only 15 minutes from Kuntur Wassi, you will be appreciate the impressive landscape of the canyon and the river embracing the mountains, through The Achachigua lookout.

In this area, all the trekking routes toward the river start, such as the Oasis of Sangalle, the Huaruro  Waterfall, the villages of Yahuar, San Juan of Chuccho and Tapay. 
 
Taking a rest in Kuntur Wassi, you have the most comfortable and closest access to Cruz del Condor viewpoint and you don’t need to get up so early to observe the flight of the bird during the morning. The enjoyment of Colca, is better when you stay in Kuntur Wassi.
